In My Case, It Cheaper To Buy A Round Trip Than To Buy Departure And Return Flights Separately?

tickets can’t be purchased until 11 months before the date of the flight. i’m planning a 2 month trip to alaska, coming from new york. should i buy a one way ticket 11 months from departure date, then the one way ticket back 11 months from the return flight date? or should i buy a round trip 11 months from the return flight date?
also, any idea which alaskan airport is cheapest to fly into and out of?
thanks so much in advance for your help!

In all cases, if both your inbound and outbound flights are operated by the same airline, it’s always cheaper to purchase a round trip ticket than 2 one-way tickets. If you’re not sure on your return date, you can tentatively book your return up to 11 months away. If you need for your tickets to be flexible, check the T&Cs of the fare you’re paying to ensure that changes are permitted.
